For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 2020 Leonardo Momento Magico Blue Abyss Piston Filler Fountain Pen made from celluloid fitted with a 14K extra fine nib. This fountain pen has been internally cleaned and is ready for your ink. 

This fountain pen is a special edition in what is known as the "blue abyss" celluloid. It displays lovely shades of blue, grey, and black. Has a blue ink view window, blue ebonite feed, with gold plated trim. The pen is a special edition but I was never able to find how many were produced.

This fountain pen cap and barrel are in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has a Roller Clip that displays light gold plate wear along with the cap banding. The back of the cap is stamped with, "LEONARDO ITALY". This Leonardo Momento Magico measures 5 3/4" capped and 6 5/8" posted.

The filling mechanism uses a brass piston and fills perfectly in my tests with water. It operates very smoothly and functions as one would expect. 

This Leonardo comes fitted with a 14K extra fine nib. The actual 14K nib iridium point measures roughly .54mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with an extra fine to medium stroke/line. In the writing sample provided, the extra-fine line measures at .42mm and will "flex" up to .69mm under medium pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Blue Ink.

When these were first launched in 2020, they retailed in the $600 to $700 depending on which shop was selling it. This is a fantastic Italian-made made fountain pen from celluloid in this marvelous Blue Abyss color. If you were in the market for one but didn't like the $700 price tag, well here's your chance to pick one up at a reasonable price to try out and use without breaking the bank.
